Don’t Be Caught Unprepared to Comply with California’s New Sick Leave Law

Don’t Be Caught Unprepared to Comply with California’s New Sick Leave Law

Governor Brown signed the Healthy Workplaces, Healthy Families Act into law, requiring employers to provide paid sick leave benefits to certain employees.

On October 8, 2014, during our free 30 minute lunchtime teleconference, Gina Bauer, an associate attorney with Flesher McKague LLP, will educate employers on how to comply with this new law. The teleconference will cover which employers are subject to this new law, when employees are entitled to paid sick leave, how sick leave is accrued, and other important details. Don’t miss out on this free teleconference. Failure to comply with this new law can lead to significant penalties and/or investigation by the Department of Labor or Attorney General.

Ms. Bauer advises employers on best practices to comply with state and federal employment and wage and hour laws. She also represents employers during employment litigation, wage and hour class actions, and before state agencies charged with enforcing California’s Labor laws. This short teleconference will prepare your company to comply with this new law before it goes into effect in July 2015.
