Let’s Catchup with Some Important Events That May Affect Your Business

This website was “kidnapped” recently by some folks who had nothing more productive to do, but we are back. So, lets catch-up on some news that should interest you and how you manage your organization.

Workers’ Comp Rate Decrease for California Employers?

It was just announced that employers could enjoy some rate decrease, but the details of how each employer will benefit is not clear. The effect of this rate change will depend upon the nature of the employer’s business, their location, claims history, and other factors.  So, this is not a cross the board reduction. In fact, some rates will increase dramatically.  So, reach out to your insurance advisor to learn how you may be affected.

Sacramento Employers and HR professionals, be sure to save June 8th to “tune-up” your knowledge about accommodating employees with disabilities.  As you know, employment laws are complex and can be tricky.

This topic will be presented by Lukas Clary, associate in Weintraub Tobin’s Labor and Employment practice group in Sacramento.

Employers generally understand their obligations to accommodate employees with disabilities under the Americans with Disabilities Act and the California Fair Employment and Housing Act.  However, many employers are faced with questions about what exactly they need to do to provide accommodations.

This is another event sponsored by the Sacramento Employer Advisory Council.  For more information, & how to register for this breakfast meeting, go to this link: http://conta.cc/25hzeDZ
