Mark Janatpour, Panel Member
Senior Deputy Labor Commissioner with the Bureau of Field Enforcement, has worked for the State of California for over 23 years, with 15 years of experience in the California Labor Commissioner’s office (Division of Labor Standards Enforcement). Mark’s work in the Labor Commissioner’s office has included serving as a Deputy Labor Commissioner handling wage claims, as well as a hearing officer for the Division.
Julie Totten, Panel Member
Ms. Totten is a Partner in charge of Orrick’s Sacramento Employment Law Group. She has a national practice with extensive experience defending and advising employers in complex discrimination, harassment, wrongful discharge, privacy and wage and hour matters. Ms. Totten is an active member of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the American Bar Association.
Galen Shimoda, Panel Member
After practicing employment defense, Mr. Shimoda switched sides and began practicing employment and personal injury law on the plaintiffs’ side. Mr. Shimoda handles individual and class action wage and hour claims for overtime, meal period violations, unpaid commissions and bonuses, minimum wage, and reimbursement expenses. Mr. Shimoda regularly speaks at seminars and panels representing the plaintiffs’ side and provides a unique perspective.
